The A-Team

The A-Team is a group of ten 4th and 5th graders who compete compete against other schools in our region in academic meets.  Schools host weekly matches to test student knowledge in the following areas: math, science, history, language arts, sports, literature, music, art, dance, geography, and much more!

Beta Club

The National Beta Club is an academic honors recognition club.  The students in the club promote the highest ideals in academic achievement, character, community service, and leadership among elementary and secondary students.  Students are selected based upon grade requirements and the display of being a positive role model at Hendron Lone Oak Elementary School

Flashtastics

The Flashtastics is a choral group of 5th grade students.  These students rehearse twice a week before school and perform at school twice a year.  The Flashtastics also travel to several nursing homes in our region to share their performances with them.

Odyssey of the Mind

Odyssey of the Mind teams are formed yearly and coordinated by parent volunteers.  These teams receive their prompts that they then plan skits for, design props and costumes, and compete at the regional level at Murray State University.  Odyssey allows students to use their creativity to write scripts, design costumes, write song lyrics, and design props.

 

Spanish Club

Spanish Club teaches students basic Spanish words and phrases.  Students also learn about Hispanic culture and have an opportunity to utilize their understanding of the Spanish language on a field trip to Los Amigos.
