Music Club

This is a club devoted just to instrumental music for students in the 5th grade.  Each nine weeks we will be focusing on a different instrumental family.  This club will serve as an introduction for students who are interested in starting a new instrument and would like to explore and find out what instrument would be the best instrument for them.  This club will be primarily geared to the students who are interested in starting band in the 6th grade. The first nine weeks we will be exploring the woodwind family.  The second nine weeks we will focus on brass instruments.  For the third nine weeks we will focus on string instruments.  Lastly, we will explore the percussion family the fourth nine weeks. Over the span of the entire year we will be having the students practice with different topics in their core content to a more extended level.  They will be having extra and more individualized recorder curriculum.  This will give them additional time to develop the skills needed for beginning band next year.
